Historic family photograph from the Town family’s farming story

Four generations. One family story

Our family’s farming story stretches back to the early 1900s. This photograph captures an earlier chapter of that story—a connection to the people who came before us and the farming life they passed down.

Today, four generations on, we’re still raising cattle at Daw Walls near Cawthorne in South Yorkshire. Daw Walls Farm Food Co is our next chapter: bringing beef from our family farm directly to your table, butchered locally and sold in small batches. A new venture, built on generations of hard work and pride in what we produce.

The beef

Good beef starts with the cattle we breed. We carefully select breeding and genetics, including Limousin and Belgian Blue, with meat quality, tenderness and flavour at the heart of our choices.

We breed and rear our cattle on our South Yorkshire family farm, drawing on generations of experience to produce beef we are proud to serve ourselves. From a quickly cooked steak to a rich, slow-cooked supper, the aim is the same: excellent beef and a meal worth enjoying.

Butchered locally and offered in small batches, our beef comes directly from the farm and family behind it.
